Haitian Americans United for Progress (HAUP), founded in 1975, is the Haitian community's oldest direct-services organization in New York. What began as volunteer support for Haitian refugees has grown into a community center offering immigration, education, health, and developmental-disability services across Queens and Brooklyn. HAUP marked its 50th anniversary in 2025 with the launch of a $5 million Legacy50 endowment campaign.
